Chemical or K-Class portable fire extinguishers consist of an aqueous solution
of organic, inorganic, or combination or organic and inorganic salts that form
an extinguishing agent effective on Class K fires.
· Wet
Chemical or K-Class portable fire extinguishers contain a potassium acetate
based agent and are specifically used to combat restaurant kitchen hazards
without leaving a residue. They are used to supplement existing automatic
cooking equipment and kitchen suppression systems. The Wet Chemical or K-Class
portable fire extinguisher comes in two sizes – 6 Liter (1.5 gal) and 2.5 gal –
the larger of which provides a longer discharge time with twice as much agent.
